Author Advertising Configuration - Google Adsense

An advertising revenue share is available on select joint contribution blogs.

One ad share model uses Google Adsense.  After signing up for your own Google Adsense publisher account, your publisher ID is displayed on posts authored by you on a 70/30 display rate basis.  The home page ads rotate through all of the site advertisers.

Sign up for a Google Adsense Account

The first step is to sign up for an Adsense account with Google.

  • Go to
  • Click on "Advertising Programs" below the search box
  • Click the "Sign Up Now" button
    • Enter the domain name
    • Select English as the language
    • Enter your contact information
    • Agree to the policies
    • Submit the information
  • Once your account is approved, you will be able to update your payment information to direct deposit.

One absolute hard and fast rule for Google Adsense is that you MUST NOT CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS.  If you do, you will be banned entirely from the program . . . and yes . . . they can tell.

Google has a minimum payout of $100.  They pay once a month.  If you have direct deposit, your payment will be made on the 25th of the month after your account reaches $100.
