Your customers are talking. The question is whether you’re part of it.

Before someone buys from you, they’re already in a conversation. They’re reading reviews, searching for answers, scrolling past content from businesses in your space. They’re forming opinions about who knows their industry, who understands their problem, and who they’d actually trust with their money.

Most small businesses go quiet right when that conversation is happening. Not because they don’t have anything to say — but because consistent, quality content takes time they don’t have, requires a strategic eye they weren’t hired to have, and demands a level of writing that most people find genuinely difficult.

That’s where Customer Conversations comes in.

This isn’t a social media management service. It isn’t a content mill that produces generic posts optimized for engagement metrics that don’t translate to actual business. It’s a strategic content retainer built around your specific business, your specific customers, and the specific communities your business operates in.

I take the time to understand what you do, why you do it, and who you’re trying to reach. Then I help you show up consistently in the conversations that matter — with content that sounds like you, speaks to your customers, and builds the kind of trust that turns readers into clients.

How the Retainer Works

Customer Conversations runs on a monthly points system. Each month you receive a set number of points that can be applied toward any combination of content deliverables from the menu below. Points that aren’t used roll forward — you’re never penalized for a slow month.

This gives you flexibility to adjust your content mix as your business needs change, without renegotiating your contract every time you need something different.

At the start of each month we confirm your priorities for that month’s content. You provide any necessary background — product updates, upcoming events, topics you want to address. I handle the research, writing, and delivery. You review, request any revisions, and publish.

Turnaround: First content delivered within 10 business days of your signed agreement and completed intake. Ongoing monthly content delivered by the 15th of each month unless otherwise arranged.

Why This Isn’t Like Hiring a Content Agency

Most content agencies assign your account to a writer who researches your industry for the first time when they pick up your brief. They produce content that’s technically correct, hits the word count, and includes the right keywords. And it reads exactly like that.

I don’t work that way.

Before I write a word for your business I want to understand your customers — not the demographic profile, but the actual people. What they care about. What frustrates them. What they’re already reading. What would make them trust you more than your competitors.

I’ve built community events from the ground up. I’ve done outreach for causes and organizations. I’ve written for industries ranging from retail to medical to legal to nonprofit. I understand that the community your communications operate in matters as much as the content itself.

That’s not something you learn from a content brief. It’s something you develop over twenty years of paying attention.

Common Questions

Q: Can I change my content mix month to month? Yes. That’s the point of the points system. As long as you’re working within your monthly allocation, you can shift priorities as your business needs change.

Q: What do you need from me each month? A short briefing — typically a 15-minute call or a written summary of your priorities, any upcoming news or events, and any topics you want to address. The more context you give me, the better the content.

Q: Do you publish the content for me? No — I deliver finished content for your review and you publish it. If you need help with your WordPress setup or social media scheduling tools, that can be arranged separately.

Q: What if I need more points than my plan includes one month? Additional points can be purchased at $35 per point for Starter and Growth clients, $30 per point for Authority clients.

Q: Do you write in my voice or yours? Yours. Part of the intake process is developing a style guide for your content so that everything I write is consistent with how you communicate — not how I would communicate if it were my business.

Q: What industries do you work with? Small businesses and content creators across most industries. I’m particularly experienced in professional services, retail, nonprofit, community organizations, and digital media. I don’t take on industries I can’t write about knowledgeably — if your business is highly specialized I’ll tell you upfront whether I’m the right fit.

Let’s talk about what your business needs and which plan makes sense for where you are right now.
