Comment Policy

I hope you find the information on this blog useful and welcome your comments and feedback.

The following are just a few guidelines for comments:

Real Name or ID:

Please use your real name or at least the normal ID that you use online.  For example, “Smooth Move Mark” would be okay.  “Best diaper pails” would not be.  (If your parents really named you Diaper with a last name of Pails, I am very sorry for you, but it is still not allowed.)

Keyword phrases in the name field will be edited to “Guest.”

Linking to Your Site

You can put the url to your site in the space provided.  If there is an RSS feed available on that url, CommentLuv will display the last post made on your site along with a link.  If you register for a free account at CommentLuv, you will be able to choose the post to be display from the last ten posts on your RSS feed.

Be Nice

Other than an odd comment here or there, this really hasn’t been an issue, but just as a policy I agree with your mom when she told you, “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”

This site is not a platform for you to release any unspent aggression or frustration.  Disagreement is allowed as long as you can state your position respectfully.

What About Freedom of Speech?

This always seems to come up whenever someone feels their “right” to spew whatever comes into their head is restricted.

Do I believe in our freedom of speech and the First Amendment?  Absolutely.  However, what the majority of people touting their “rights” don’t seem to understand is that the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects your right to speak out against the government without fear of retribution.

It does not protect you against the consequences of your speech.  You can still be held accountable for what you say and be sued for slander (if spoken,) libel (when written,) as well as for defamation of character.

This web site is private property, and as such, does not fall under the First Amendment.  I pay for it.  I publish it.  Because of that, I can set the standards and decide what I want to let stand and what I don’t.

I choose not to provide space for negative and attacking words.

Psalms 59:12 NLT

A fool’s mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

The wicked are trapped by their own words, but the godly escape such trouble.
Proverbs 12:13 NLT

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
James 3:1-11 NIV
