So have you been enjoying the wonderful weather we’ve been having? I don’t know if I’m just getting acclimated to the Houston heat, but the humidity hasn’t seemed that bad this year. It has been such a whirlwind of a month, I don’t even know where to start.
Let’s start with Cebridge. My cable connection was down for SIX DAYS! Can you believe that? I actually had to sign up for an AOL dial-up account just to get online. Do you know how long it takes to send a large graphic file across a 28k dial-up connection? I unfortunately know the answer to this, two hours (including all the time-outs and disconnects). This has given me a renewed appreciation for fast-loading sites.
Recent Projects
But enough of that. I’ve been working on a lot of fun projects this past month.
Impact Self Defense: I created identity pieces for a new Taekwondo studio opening in August, Impact Self Defense. They specialize in classes for women and young children.
Glitz & Glam: I also just finished some promotional pieces for a new spa and salon for girls, Glitz & Glam, that will be opening this fall in Atascocita. Glitz & Glam will offer specialized services for girls from the first hair cut to teens.
I am really hoping that if I take Avery there it will keep her from cutting her own hair. We have hidden every single scissors in the house and she still manages to find them to give herself and her little sister a haircut. She’s 5 and after the last session their bangs are about 1/2 inch long.
To get a sneak preview and a coupon for a discount on services, visit their booth at the H-E-B 4th of July at Kingwood Town Center from 5 to 9 pm.
Swags Design: I am also really excited about the brochures for Swags Designs that I just picked up from the printer today. Swags is an interior design company that offers a full range of services from accessorizing and consulting to full home designs. If you want your house to look pretty, they can help, and now they have pretty brochures as well.
Active Houstonian: I just finished creating a logo for the Active Houstonian. If you haven’t picked up a copy yet, it is a monthly newsletter that lists community events, group and activity sign-ups, sporting events and activities, and museum and theater events.
We have started to use the Active Houstonian to plan our weekend outings. We went to the Pasadena Strawberry Festival, as well as the Brenham Ice Cream Festival, and we would never have ventured that far afield if we hadn’t seen it in the AH.
