October News

It’s hard to believe that in less than two months, 2005 will be coming to an end. I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m just getting resituated after Rita (I finally found my portfolio that I thought I had lost when we evacuated!), and now it’s time to get ready for the holidays.

I’ve created and prepared my business holiday cards, made sure everything is in order for the year-end accounting, and I’m getting ready to put together my marketing plan for 2006 (more on that later). But what I’ve really been spending time on lately is Picnic on the Park!

If you missed Picnic on the Park last year, it is a community Easter event held at Town Center Park. It will be on April 15th, 2006. There are game booths, vendors, entertainment, a free Easter Egg hunt, and new this year, a Ladies Luncheon and Easter Bonnet Contest.

In short, just an all-around happy day.

If you would like to participate as a business or an individual, be sure to get with me soon. Vendor and game booths are going fast. RE/MAX reserved the inflatables several months ago. But don’t worry, we have a whole list of fun activities available. So put us in your marketing plan for 2006.

Speaking of which, do you have yours ready? Your 2006 marketing plan that is. If not, join us for the “Developing a Marketing Plan” seminar series on November 8th and 10th at Homewood Suites.

Tuesday will cover defining your marketing message and Thursday will go over the actual nuts and bolts of the plan. When you walk out of the seminar on Thursday, you’ll have your plan for 2006 and be ready to jump into the new year.

If you haven’t already reserved your space, call me at 713.289.0819 so I will be sure to have enough materials on hand.

Recent Projects

I have been working on projects besides Picnic on the Park, after all, as Dawn says, I have to support my charity habit.

One of those projects was for another new local nonprofit, the Angel Alliance. It’s purpose is to help individuals and families in crisis, particularly those that are not supported by traditional agencies.

Another recent project was a web site for Signing Tots, which offers workshops and classes for parents to teach them to communicate with infants and toddlers incorporating American Sign Language.

Both of the sites are part of the Business Builder web site program.
