Kingwood, Texas, March 12, 2010 — Join the Easter festivities on Saturday, April 3rd, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in Town Center Park, Kingwood, for the Seventh Annual Picnic on the Park.
Families and friends come together and enjoy a day at the park with a full day of fun featuring a street fair, food booths, petting zoo, games, and entertainment. Admission is free. Game booth tickets will be available for $1 each or $15 for a wristband for all day play.
Tweens and teens are not forgotten with an action packed “Teen Zone” with a rock wall, a dunk tank with local youth leaders as sitting ducks, basketball and baseball challenge where aspirants can test their skills. “Jello Wars” will make a return this year where teams battle for domination in a game of tug-of-war.
The Easter egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. with separate sessions for groups of 10 children in three age groups: 3 and under, 4 to 7, and 8 and up.
Picnic on the Park began in 2004 and has become an Easter tradition for the Northeast Houston area. The event has grown each year with over 4,000 people attending in 2009.
Picnic on the Park is made possible by donations and sponsorships from area businesses, vendor fees, and the efforts of a volunteer planning committee. Among this year’s sponsors are The Tribune Newspapers, Kingwood Radio, Legacy Marketing Services, Alspaugh’s Ace Hardware, Silverleaf Resorts, and Dr. Paul Bozzos, DDS.
Vendors and Sponsors are now being accepted. Event information is available online at www.picniconthepark.com.
