What's New
The first half of 2009 has been an outstanding year for Legacy Marketing. I've been working on some fun projects, both for clients as well as personal ones. The big project, of course, for the second quarter was Picnic on the Park. The Sixth Annual (yes that's right SIXTH) Festival was held on April 11th. If you didn't make it out, the big change this year was that we fenced the park and were able to get an actual gate count. This may not sound like a huge deal, but trust me it was. This is the first time that Town Center Park has ever had restricted access for an event. A little over 4,000 people attended the festival with another 250 that attended the Ladies Luncheon on April 1st (view pictures from the events online here and here.) Northeast Houston Family GuideIn previous years, we have published an event program for Picnic on the Park. This year we are expanding the program to be a Family Guide for the Northeast Houston area. The full color guide will contain resources and helpful articles about the area (Kingwood, Humble, Atascocita, and Huffman) and will be published in August of this year. This is a format I have wanted to do for several years, actually since I was involved with Mothers of Young Children. Let's face it, there are a lot of things to figure out when you move here. I considered myself to be pretty well informed on events and activities in the area and I had no idea that Duessen Park has a herd of buffalo until I started research for the Guide article on area parks. I am very excited about the Guide and my goal is to make it a "must have" for area families. As with the other Picnic on the Park fundraising, the proceeds from the Guide benefit the Village Learning & Achievement Center. We are currently placing ads in the guide. Directory listings start at $50 and display advertising is available as well. The submission deadline is July 1st, 2009. If you have a business that markets to families or children, you definitely don't want to miss out! Please contact me if you'd like to be included. I hope you all have a chance to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having! Until next time . . . Carla Alvarez Your Subscription: |
